There was a street fight today right outside my office window. River of Life had a lengthy line of patrons waiting for food when it broke out.
The homeless problem keeps getting worse and the violence is rising. I’ve had my business in Chinatown for 30 years. We’re a half a block from the police station.
About 15 minutes after the fight I walked down to the station to offer them my video. The two police on duty didn’t even know it had happened. There’s a police camera on the corner of Maunakea and Pauahi. Somehow the parts aren’t connecting to keep the streets safe.
