Known around Chinatown are people, mainly white males a few locals and black, selling bags of rice, bottles of hard liquor, packages of beef jerky and cases of macadamia nuts. What these items?? Asians who live in Honolulu would buy it to take back to their country as gifts ‘omiyage in Japanese’
These goods are purchased with EBT/SNAP/food stamps and sold for cash on the streets at a cheaper price than in the stores … Is this illegal? EBT Fraud? Or what if the goods such as hard liquor is shoplifted??! Who buys this stuff? plenty of people. We are enabling this illegal system by buying goods from someone like this guy. Think before you buy.
