City’s private security guards asked this apparent homeless, intoxicated male early in the morning to not sit/lie on Kekaulike Mall and to clean up his mess. Mid morning, CW member also politely as if he’s ok and needs to clean up the mess and leave. 4 hours later he’s still there amassing more trash from around the Mall; looks like he was setting up camp. Ali’i security guard even bought a large bottle water for him because he said he wanted water to drink. Finally around 12n, HPD was eventually called because he does not move, the guards also noticed that he was fiddling with a pocket-household knife.
HPD Officer Gillman respectfully asks him to move along and he finally does, slowly dragging some of his “belongings” (more like trash) with police escort in tow.
What a waste of resources to deal with chronic mentally unstable homeless individuals like him around Chinatown.
